How does moisture accumulate under a structure's foundation?
Moisture can accumulate beneath a structure's foundation under a number of circumstances. Sloped topography, no rain gutters, poor lot drainage and overirrigation can lead to sub slab moisture issues.
Proactive Steps to Minimize Moisture:
- Rain Gutters (be sure they are trenched at least 20 feet away from the structure)
- Landscape designed to divert water away from the foundation
- Avoid overwatering grass or consider a desert landscape
