Concrete Crack Stitching

What is Concrete Crack Stitching?

edit-060400By utilizing pre-cured carbon fiber stitching systems used to bridge shear forces, we can repair cracks in foundations and floor slabs. The systems are installed at a fraction of the cost of traditional steel dowels and with less heavy equipment and disruption to the homeowner.

Here at Arizona Foundation Solutions, we are certified applicators for HJ3 Composites and is the preferred applicator for Arizona. HJ3 is one of the world leading authorities on the use of these materials in the construction environment.

We cut stitches into your cracked foundation's concrete, drop carbon fiber laminates into the cuts and adhere with low viscosity polyurea. This system is stronger, faster and more cost-effective than the more traditional embedment of rebar dowels into the concrete. Crack Stitching is a reliable way to repair concrete & foundation cracks running along your floor.

Stem Wall Repair

Are there horizontal cracks on the outside foundation stem wall of your building? This could indicate a serious foundation problem.

The rebar oxidizing (rusting) is typically the cause of horizontal cracks.  With enough time, the concrete will spall and eventually split as the rebar dissipates completely.

What Causes Stem Wall Cracking?

Stem wall cracking  is caused by chloride ion exchange in the moisture laden pores of the concrete that facilitates the oxidization (rusting) of the rebar. tt is very difficult to stop with traditional means once this has started.

TIP: Sealing the crack with epoxy will not stop the rebar from continuing to oxidize and expand.

Cracks may start out small, but will continue to grow. This pores of the concrete contain miniscule amounts of water that actually conduct electricity, forming a tiny current between the rebar and the outside of the concrete wall. This current facilitates a flow of chloride ions that cause the rebar to rust.

Eventually the rebar grows large enough to break the concrete out completely on its own, causing total failure.

We can fix these stem wall problems. We are your trusted experts for all things stem wall repair!
