One of the secrets to our success at Arizona Foundation Solutions has been tapping into an awesome talented Board of Advisors to help with perspective on the big picture long term vision. Over the years board members have come and gone, however their experience and feedback have helped us grow into the organization we proudly are today.

Meet the current Arizona Foundation Solutions Board of Advisors:

Alan Lawdahl CPA Photo

 

Alan Lawdahl, CPA: I met Alan many years ago and we reconnected through a former board member Meyer Turken of Turken Properties. Alan runs a small tax advisory firm,   Johnson Lawdahl Endres, PLLC. Alan is one of our longest serving board members. He has been a great source of steady support as we have struggled to get our accounting processes and people in order.

 

 

 

Jay Jennings

 

Jay Jennings : Jay has been a marketing advisor for many years and is also one of our longest serving board members. Jay successfully sold his family business Safeco Security a few years ago. He has Also been instrumental with NARPO, a referral source for local car mechanics. Jay truly understands marketing and has great insights into positioning and long term strategy.

 

 

Paul Harter

 

Paul Harter : Paul has been practicing law for nearly 40 years at his own firm Harter Law PC. Paul practices law as generalist, but many times has been involved with construction companies and homeowners. Paul has helped us with many issues and has been a constant source of wisdom on important legal and administrative issues.

 

 

 

Harold Schifman

 

Harold Schifman: Harold’s background is a story all of its own with many adventures and business. One of his famed business adventures was the CEO of the Larson Company doing decorative concrete work all over the world and had as a business partner the owners of of DMB. Until slowing down in retirement, Harold has served on many banking boards and has been intimately connected in the banking community and has helped us as we struggled to find a banking relationship.

 

 

 

 

Gary Burleson

Gary Burleson : Gary sold his concrete business with 1200 employees in 2006, BBP Concrete and retired. Not wanting to stay retired he found himself in the concrete business again as the CEO and owner of Etico. Gary is also a facilitator of MIX exchanges for concrete contractors all over the United States. Gary has a brilliant mind and is full of sage advice.

 

 

 

Mark Phelps

 

Mark Phelps: Mark is the owner of Foundation Repair of California. A company similar in size to ours. Before that Mark was in the corporate world in a variety of capacities and positions. Mark is great to have on the board as he truly understands our struggles and can provide best practices from experience from someone in the same business as us.

 

 

 

 

Tony Polusny

 

Tony Polusny: Tony is a partner and engineer in Pangolin LLC, a structural engineering company. Before that Tony was the managing partner for the local branch of Meyer Borgman Johnson. Tony has been a provider of structural services for us on many projects. He is smart, talented and well connected in the community.

 

 

 

 

Over the years we have been blessed to have many board members besides those currently serving. Pete Horner of O’Brien Concrete Pumping, Meyer Turken of Turken Properties, Dave Deatherage of Copper State Engineering, Tim Drexler of Ace asphalt, and Dean Piles who now is a project manager at AZFS.

Each quarter we meet to discuss what the big picture is. We have stuck together in good and bad times, in trials and tribulations and in our celebrations of success. It is truly one of our secrets keeping our aim true and pointed in the right direction.
